As the conference website outlines: “With a population of more than 13 million, the capital of Japan and the seat of Japanese government is one of the largest metropolises in the world. A city of enormous creative and entrepreneurial energy that enjoys a long history of prosperity, Tokyo is often referred to as a ‘command centre’ for the global economy, along with New York and London. Not only a key business hub, Tokyo also offers an almost unlimited range of local and international culture, entertainment, dining and shopping to its visitors, making it an ideal destination for the International Bar Association’s 2014 Annual Conference.”
What to expect from the conference
While an agenda has not yet been released for the conference, delegates can expect to hear news and information about Asia-Pacific legal market issues. Among them include legal market liberalization, competition from foreign law firms, the expansion of the legal market, growth of Asia-Pacific economies, regional opportunities for clients, efforts to continue to liberalize trade with Europe and America, legal marketing and law practice management, legal technology and the impact of social media on law practice, among others.
