Turkey: Capture the summer sunshine

With one part in the east and another in the west, turkey is an embodiment of a cultural mix influenced by centuries of both ancient and modern civilizations. Known to many as a land of myth, a cradle of various civilizations and a canvas of nature’s most aesthetic bounties, turkey owes its favourable position as a bridging nation between two most important continents, Europe and Asia while sharing boundaries with Africa to.

There is no doubt whether you will enjoy yourself. The question is how much fun you can take. There is something for every visitor. The warm sociable people, the exotic world-class cuisine, architectural splendour of the mosque make turkey, the ultimate tourist destination.

Most of Turkey’s best beaches have been snatched up by big hotels or full-service entertainment beach clubs — leaving less-than-stellar public alternatives. Thankfully, those big operations keep their beaches clean (the public ones with no services are very often littered) and the prices for their lounges pretty low, and they usually are associated with some of the best patches of sand or pebbles anyway.

This Mediterranean country, still largely adhere to native customs and tradition in many areas of life. From birth, marriage to holiday celebration, the people celebrate their heritage with great enthusiasm, reflecting the richness and magnificence of their way of life.

When it comes to food and drinks, the traditional Turkish cuisine usually includes Meze, a tray or table of hors d’oeuvres, stuffed grape leaves, salads, shrimp and a wide variety of other items. Despite have a high majority of Muslim, Turkish people enjoy locally made beer, wine and spirits. There traditional drink is called raki- an aniseed-flavored clear grape brandy, similar to French pastis.

Turkey has a beach friendly temperature. Mo matter the part of the country you are visiting, the climate is always conducive for whatever relaxation you want. For the winter period, you won’t be needing a scarf and a hat because the average temperature are between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius.

Spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) are the best times to visit turkey. The climate will give you the perfect environment for sightseeing in Istanbul, the Aegean or Mediterranean coast.

Turkey is a great destination for summer vacations, preferred by many holiday lovers. Although five out of seven of Turkey`s climatic regions are quite hot and rainless in summers, it is cool in the inlands. Turkish summers lasts from mid-June to mid-September.

A summer vacation in Turkey is an opportunity to watch events and festivals that take place during this time of the year. You can watch the Marmaris Yacht Show in May; the Marmaris Festival in June; Aspendos Opera Festival in June; Butterfly Valley, from July to September; Antalya Film Festival in September.  The well known resorts have kid`s clubs to keep children entertained and happy. So, do not miss this wonderful opportunity of a summer vacation in Turkey.

Here is a fun fact. With the exception of the state capital, Istanbul, turkey doesn’t really have a winter tourism season. It is also advisable to plan ahead when travelling during the Four-or-Five day Kurban Bayrami as banks close and ATMs maybe out of cash.

With centuries of cultural evolution from different parts from parts of the world of the globe store in this wonderland, the archaeological museum is surely going to thrill you. The structure in itself is an exception complex, consisting on separate museums, the archaeology museum, the museum of the ancient orient and the tiles kiosk. One of the most remarkable attractions is the sarcophagus of Alexander the great found in the archaeology museum.

Ephesus

Turkey is awash with ancient cities, making it tough to select just one for this list. However, the most popular of these attractions is Ephesus near modern Selcuk. From more than 4 centuries, the topkani palace has been the home to the ottoman sultans. Today, it is one of istanbuls most popular attractions. The palace was named Topkapi, meaning canon gate. You can wonder around the country yards and look at the splendour/elegance of the sultan’s residence. The palace is stuffed with so much history and culture making it a very popular destination to appreciate both the history and traditional of ancient turkey.
